This hands-on workshop will give you a great introduction into the world of natural plant dyeing.

You'll cover the first steps in dyeing your own yarn, using foraged plant materials and store cupboard ingredients. You'll discuss the use of mordants to fix colours, scouring and the different colours that plants produce.

There will be lots of hands on plant dying using natural materials like ferns, willow, onion skins and more to create a range of stunning natural colours.

At the end of the day you'll take home a few mini-skeins of plant dyed Welsh yarn.

Helen Hickman, owner of Nellie and Eve comes from a long line of creative women, seamstress's, embroiderers and home makers, 'nellie and eve' being the names of her grandmothers.

Based on a hill in rural south west Wales UK, Helen has her own workshop and handmakes all of her products, reflecting her love of a homespun lifestyle, sourcing her wool locally and using traditional techniques.
